Non-profit engagement is about people coming together around an idea and working together to achieve something they think is important. When this happens, the conditions for sustainable and attractive areas are created. But even if the cooperation and the will to develop are there, the money may not always be there. Then Leader can be an opportunity.

Getting started
Often an idea is hatched based on a local need or you have a new innovative method you want to test. We offer process support and new contact points.
Writing an application
The application is made digitally and often requires several supplementary attachments. We will help you compile a complete application.
Implement
Implementing a project requires good ability to keep activities and finances together. The Leader Office can support and provide guidance.
End
All projects conclude with a final report and presentation of results and insights that are published on the website.
What is the Leader Method?
Support for rural development
Leader grants project support for rural development. During the period 2023–2027, a total of SEK 1.7 billion is available to strengthen the competitiveness and development of Sweden's rural areas.
The basis for all support that is distributed is the Leader method – a method where local support and commitment are at the center. Contact your leader area with your project idea to see what opportunities are available.
How can we help you?
Do you have a project idea that focuses on local development?
Then you can test your idea by submitting a concept sketch to our office. Our project developer can help you with process development, new networks and advice on how to design a project plan.
It is also possible to call us and get a quick opinion on whether your idea fits as a leader project. A good tip is to gather a number of associations around you and invite us to an information meeting.
Leader support
For whom and what?
Leader support can be applied for by associations, companies and other organizations that have an idea that can contribute to rural development.
The project idea must align with our development strategy and our areas of focus and be of benefit to many people. The more public benefit a project is, the more support it can receive. Contact us to see what opportunities are available.
