About the feasibility study
The Association Sörmland's Veteran Railway (FSVJ) will conduct a feasibility study to investigate development opportunities ahead of a possible acquisition of Oxelösund's locomotive sheds. The feasibility study will include a building technical inspection of the locomotive sheds, and the association will investigate how a possible acquisition of the property affects the association's finances as well as development opportunities in the short and long term. Ownership form and risk analysis will also be examined.
”For FSVJ, it will be a completely new part of our operations: to take over the full responsibility and ownership of a unique building such as a locomotive shed and its conditions.
Therefore, aspects such as operations need to be clarified in order to manage the property well in the future.”

Leader Sörmlandskusten is running its own project in 2026 to enable support for smaller initiatives that contribute to more sustainable and smarter solutions in rural areas. By smarter, we mean more adapted to local conditions, using local resources, and collaborating in new ways based on the actors present in the area.
The project aims to strengthen local engagement and contribute to new methods, working practices, and community solutions that make our rural areas more sustainable, resilient, and attractive to live and work in. The goal is to support 5-10 smaller sub-projects.
