Our Strategy
The strategy will contribute to the development of the local countryside through the leader method during the period 2023–2027 for the municipalities of Salem, Södertälje, Botkyrka, Trosa, Oxelösund, and Nyköping.

Our Vision
THE SÖRMLAND COAST IS AN INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABLE AREA THAT IS ATTRACTIVE TO EXPERIENCE, LIVE, AND WORK IN.
This strategy contributes to the development of the local countryside through the leader method. The local community has been involved in the development of the strategy, which is implemented in collaboration between private, non-profit, and public actors.

Selection
The selection process is designed to enable the selection of projects that can contribute to achieving the goals of the strategy. It should also provide guidance to applicants on which efforts may be granted support.
Challenges
Collaboration is a clear development opportunity; the need for collaboration, partnerships, networks, and associations to work together towards a common goal is the most evident in our needs analysis.
The challenges and opportunities for businesses have a need to find new solutions to increase their profitability and enable growth. High demand for local food, the national and regional food strategies, are seen as important tools in development based on local conditions.
Effects
The leader method is a recognized development model for long-term effects. The strategy 2023-2027 will be the area's third major rural project for local development. We take advantage of and develop the area's existing processes.

Actors who have contributed to the development of this strategy are primarily the Leader Sörmland Coast partnership, which has been involved both as a reference group and as hosts for thematic workshops.
The association's board has contributed ideas and feedback.
At public workshops, target groups have contributed feedback and ideas. To further complement the strategy, we have conducted outreach activities and through interviews and conversations with organizations and businesses, we have also reached many who have not been in contact with Leader before.
