Stop Rabbit
Ersboda 4H farm is developing an accessible and inclusive rabbit farm that will become a meeting place for everyone
About the project
Here, visitors can meet the animals up close, listen to stories via audio guides, and participate in care and activities – regardless of conditions. Stop Rabbit will be a place for community, learning, and joy of life.
Rabbits are a calm and contact-creating species that is particularly well-suited for meetings with the elderly and people with disabilities. The farm is designed to be wheelchair accessible and inclusive for all visitors.
As part of the initiative, the 4H club also wants to use audio media – in the form of audio guides – to bring stories about the animals and the activities to life in a new way. The association places great emphasis on participation, and the target groups will be involved in both planning, implementation, and the daily operations when the rabbit farm is completed.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
”The rabbit farm will become a gathering point for meetings between children, youth, the elderly, and people with varying abilities.”
LAG's decision justification
A rabbit farm at Ersboda 4H club means a new line of business for the association and contributes to a more inclusive operation. LAG assesses that the initiative is well thought out and that there is a strong desire to include the target group in the project, both in planning, during implementation, and when the rabbit farm is in place. Through the project, the association will strengthen the staff's competence and knowledge to work with people with disabilities and varying abilities, thus becoming even more inclusive in both experience and storytelling.
Audio guides are a good example of universal design and can make the rabbit farm and activities easily accessible to many. The work of the 4H club is a good example of how associations can work inclusively and in collaboration, thereby creating added value for the public.
