Apply

All applications are made digitally via the Swedish Board of Agriculture's E-service.

Keep in mind!

Before you open an application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's E-service, you must have your project idea confirmed by our project coaches. Read more under the expression of interest.

Application

In the application, you must answer questions about

  • what goals and results the project should achieve
  • what you will implement and what expenses you will have in connection with the project.

You may need a power of attorney to apply for support and payment on behalf of an organization or a company. You can also grant power of attorney so that someone else can apply on your behalf.

Plan your budget

You must fill out a budget template and attach it to the application. You must also attach documentation to the application that shows how you arrived at your budget. Examples of documentation include quotes and price information from more than one supplier.

Checklist – how to do your budget correctly

✅ Use our budget template.
✅ Attach at least two price quotes for each purchase/investment.
✅ Always use the lowest price quote in your budget – or explain why you chose a more expensive option.
✅ Explain if you cannot provide two price quotes (e.g., for specialized equipment).
✅ Include shipping, installation, and other additional costs .
✅ Double-check that all amounts in the budget match the attached documentation.

When you have submitted your application for support

First, we will prepare your application for our board, which will decide whether the project should be prioritized. This includes checking whether your application meets the selection criteria and whether your budget is reasonable. If your project has been approved by the board, the case will be processed.

Thereafter, the Swedish Board of Agriculture reviews the application and makes the formal decision. This can take a few months, so be prepared for it to take time.

If you start your project before you receive your decision on support, it is important that you still follow the conditions that apply to the support. Otherwise, your support may be reduced or you may not receive any support at all.

You can only receive support for expenses that have an invoice date and payment date from the day your application was submitted to the authority.

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of a detailed and reasonable budget!

This is what we will review:

✅ Check that the applicant has attached at least two price quotes per expense item (or has justified any deviation).
✅ Ensure that the applicant has chosen the lowest price quote in the budget; if not – check the justification.
✅ If the price level seems high or low – consider involving the evaluation committee.
✅ Review the scope of the quotes (what is included, what is missing, conditions such as shipping, installation, etc.).
✅ Check if a collective assessment by the evaluation committee is required (e.g., for unusual or difficult-to-assess expenses).
✅ Document the method choice and justification in the decision (for example, ”compare bids + committee assessment”).
✅ Ensure that attachments, quotes, and the committee's minutes are complete and easy to follow during the review.

Support for projects and collaborations

You can receive support for projects that contribute to development in your leader area according to the leader area's development strategy. This also includes collaborations with other leader areas.
