South Vårdinge vegetable farm
Vårdinge Folk High School cultivates organically and regeneratively
About the project
Through the project, Vårdinge Folk High School has started a large-scale vegetable farm that is managed according to the principles of regenerative and organic farming. The harvest from the farm is used in the restaurant on the school grounds and the farm is used as a teaching example in the education conducted at the Folk High School. The farming project is an open activity that spreads knowledge about the business model to others - both other businesses in the area and visitors.
The cultivation consists of approximately 1,500 square meters of growing beds and a 160 square meter tunnel greenhouse.
The project ran from 2021 to 2023.

THE PROJECT
”We grew just over two tons of vegetables
in 2022!”
Why was the project prioritized?
LAG's decision on prioritization with justification:
The project contributes to a new vegetable farm and a new company. Vårdinge Folkhögskola has good conditions to develop the facility in a combination of education and tourism. The farm also contributes to added value for other active actors and residents of Vårdinge village.
