Design for a new planning basis could provide more housing in Vrena
About the project
Sålla AB receives support to investigate the possibilities for transforming the old factory area in Vrena into a center for housing and businesses. The Vrenabygden Interest Association is involved in the project group.
To start a planning process with Nyköping Municipality – and convert the old industrial land into a residential area – a new plan description is required. The project support from Leader allows Sålla to produce the necessary documentation for this, such as a soil survey and sampling. As part of the project, Sålla will conduct workshops with residents and entrepreneurs in Vrena to create a shared vision, conduct study visits and display the new plan in an exhibition stand at Vrenadagen.

Converting the factory area in Vrena from industry to housing integrated with operations and services can influence or awaken new ideas and development paths with a focus on public and commercial services. A land survey for Vrenaby can also affect the economic conditions for building housing in Vrena, especially for the property owner but also for those interested in planning construction and operations in the area. The board is particularly positive about the broad support of participants in the project group and that the project is well-established among both local residents and the municipality.

Purpose: to investigate the possibilities for transforming the factory area in Vrena from industry to housing integrated with businesses and services.
CASE: to prepare documentation for an application for a planning permission to convert land use on the Vrenaby 1:26 property from industrial to residential, to conduct workshops with local residents and business owners in Vrena around a vision, study visits and an exhibition stand on a theme day.
