Järna Nature Festival - Preliminary study

A feasibility study to anchor and plan Järna Nature Festival

About the project

The cultural association Urban Company/Gula Villan is investigating the conditions for a new festival with a focus on nature, art and the environment: Järna Naturfest. In the preliminary study, they find out about local conditions, work with the project's local anchoring, thematization, economic conditions, marketing and communication. The preliminary study is being carried out in collaboration with the association Under Tallarna.

The preliminary study yielded a successful result and already in September 2025, Järna Naturfest was realized with around 80 visitors of various ages. The project leaders are satisfied with the outcome and want to invest in a new festival next year as well!

Here you can read their feasibility study report, with lessons learned and reflections from the feasibility study.

NOTE: The actual implementation of Järna Naturfest was not funded by Leader, only the feasibility study.

PILOT STUDY

”"We want to create a meeting place where nature, culture and sustainability interact and inspire climate change"”

One of eleven projects within "Creative Rural Areas"”

Culture as a tool for rural development

In 2025, Leader Sörmland Coast is making a special effort on projects with cultural and creative actors. We are financing 11 projects that, with small funds (max. 40,000 SEK incl. VAT), will make contributions within the culture or creative sector. The projects are always in collaboration with at least one actor.

With the 11 sub-projects, Leader Sörmland Coast wants to promote culture as a tool for the development of towns and rural areas in our area.

The purpose of the project is to promote culture, creativity and place development in rural areas within the framework of the Leader method.

The goal of the project is to grant 10 projects with a focus on location development for creative and cultural industries.

The project is partly funded by the EU.
