Feasibility Study 4H Farm
Sörmland County 4H wants to investigate what conditions exist to run a 4H farm in Nyköping.
About the feasibility study
Sörmland County 4H has been granted support to investigate what conditions exist to run a 4H farm in Nyköping. A 4H farm could become a new recreational activity for children and youth and a new destination in Nyköping. There is currently only one summer-driven 4H in Sörmland, so establishing a year-round operation is in demand.
The goal of the feasibility study is to map stakeholders and locations where a 4H farm could be established and provide suggestions for activities that the farm could offer. To gauge interest and conditions for establishing a 4H farm in Nyköping.
During the feasibility study, Sörmland County 4H has conducted study trips for inspiration and learning from other 4H farms, held a mini-4H in connection with Nyköping Municipality's early summer festival, organized inspiration seminars for politicians, officials, association representatives, and
other interested parties. The feasibility study has led to the formation of a reference group for 4H in Nyköping. After the feasibility study, there are plans to form a 4H club.

PILOT STUDY
Great interest in a 4H farm in Nyköping!
”Several hundred visitors came to our mini4H farm during Nyköping's early summer festival”
Why a preliminary study?
LAG's decision on prioritization with justification:
The feasibility study contributes to developing the basis for a new destination, recreational or meeting place for both children and the elderly. In Nyköping, there are several potential locations and actors that could provide a learning environment and recreation among animals and nature. There is also a great need for an open facility year-round where children and youth can meet animals and nature in an organized manner.
