Fantasy LARP in Sörmland

A feasibility study on conducting a fantasy LARP with local partners in Oxelösund and Nyköping

About the project

The association Generator has conducted a feasibility study to prepare a LARP with a fantasy theme in Sörmland. During the feasibility study, they have worked on talking and planning with local partners, focusing on actors in Oxelösund and Nyköping municipalities. They have also brainstormed around concepts, safety, practical solutions, economy, and budget. In the project, they have also collaborated with entrepreneur Martin Olsson (Event X), who is experienced in creating and running LARPs and events for children and youth.

We hope there are good conditions for them to conduct a LARP in the summer of 2026!

The project was carried out in the autumn of 2025 as part of ”Creative Rural Areas.”.

ABOUT FANTASY LARP

”With a secure setup, local anchoring, and time to grow, fantasy LARP in Sörmland can become a recurring and appreciated activity for children, youth, and families.”

One of eleven projects within "Creative Rural Areas"”

Culture as a tool for rural development

In 2025, Leader Sörmland Coast is making a special effort on projects with cultural and creative actors. We are financing 11 projects that, with small funds (max. 40,000 SEK incl. VAT), will make contributions within the culture or creative sector. The projects are always in collaboration with at least one actor.

With the 11 sub-projects, Leader Sörmland Coast wants to promote culture as a tool for the development of towns and rural areas in our area.

The purpose of the project is to promote culture, creativity and place development in rural areas within the framework of the Leader method.

The goal of the project is to grant at least 10 sub-projects with a focus on location development for creative and cultural industries.

The project is partly funded by the EU.
