Salem Art Association invites you to an art tour with public art in focus
About the project
On the first weekend in September, Salem's Art Association, together with Salem's Local History Association, invited people to an art tour in Rönninge.
The art tour began with an open lecture about public art and art in the municipality of Salem at Villa Skönvik, and the speaker and guide was Åsa-Viktoria Wihlborg (ArtPlatform). The tour continued with a joint bus tour with a display of eleven public artworks: some in locked public environments (schools) and others in the People's House, the library and one artwork in a roundabout. Through the art tour, the Salem Art Association wants to make public art visible and to show it and toEveryone should be able to see and discover the art that exists today.
The art tour was completely free and was the first of its kind in the municipality. The project strengthened the collaboration between the art association and the local history association, and the municipality of Salem was included in the work with some planning and in the practicalities of unlocking and making premises available for the art tour.

Culture as a tool for rural development
In 2025, Leader Sörmland Coast is making a special effort on projects with cultural and creative actors. We are financing 11 projects that, with small funds (max. 40,000 SEK incl. VAT), will make contributions within the culture or creative sector. The projects are always in collaboration with at least one actor.
With the 11 sub-projects, Leader Sörmland Coast wants to promote culture as a tool for the development of towns and rural areas in our area.
The purpose of the project is to promote culture, creativity and place development in rural areas within the framework of the Leader method.
The goal of the project is to grant at least 10 sub-projects with a focus on location development for creative and cultural industries.
The project is partly funded by the EU.
