Fishing area Coastline

The Coastline Fishing Area was an EU-funded local fishing area that operated 2010–2013 in the municipalities of Trosa, Oxelösund and Nyköping. Through three million kronor in support from the European Fisheries Fund, the area drove investments in fisheries conservation, restoration of aquatic environments, sustainable fishing tourism and the development of coastal industries. The project enabled, among other things, the restoration of the Trosaån and Buskhyttebäcken streams, measures for coastal fish species and planning to develop the fishing port in Oxelösund. The coastline strengthened both natural values and local coastal communities. The activities continued in some form in the 2014–2020 programming period
