Improved service through an unmanned store in Brannebol
About the project
In 2025, two entrepreneurs started an unmanned grocery store in Branebol in the municipality of Nyköping.
Brannebol, Lappetorp and Horn are three local communities that are expanding. By establishing an unmanned grocery store in the area, year-round residents and summer residents will receive improved service through increased access to food. The project collaborates with, among others, Brannebols Samfällighetsförening and local food producers. The goal is to offer basic goods mixed with selected locally produced food. The store is mobile and can be set up during the winter months.
The project is ongoing in 2025.

Why was the project prioritized?
An unmanned store will improve service for residents in the areas of Brannebol, Lappetorp and Horn in Nyköping municipality. The store will not only create increased access to food in the area but can also function as a meeting place in the community. There is potential for the store to develop and offer additional services in the form of package delivery and community information. The project is rooted in the village and involves the community association and local food producers. LAG encourages the ambitions that the store will offer locally produced food.
Strengthening access to commercial services is a designated area in the Leader Sörmland Coast strategy, and it is also in line with Nyköping Municipality's work to strengthen commercial services in rural areas. The board believes that it is justified to provide support for an unmanned store because the customer base for a store in the area is seasonal.
About the project
The project is awaiting a decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
The project is prioritized by the Leader Sörmland Coast board. Awaiting approval from the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
