Prepared Nyköping

The project aims to create interest and engagement among the local population in the rural areas of Nyköping municipality to increase knowledge about crisis preparedness and individuals' roles in crisis situations. By promoting and strengthening engagement within civil society, the project strives to enhance preparedness and resilience against various types of crises and disasters.

To raise awareness of potential crises in rural areas, the project works with lectures, workshops, and process management. Firstly, this aims to initiate processes that identify local strengths and weaknesses to effectively manage any crises. Additionally, the goal is to develop existing safety points and establish new ones in community centers or other suitable venues in the countryside.

Together with the Study Association Sörmland, crisis preparedness coordinators in Nyköping municipality, Sörmland's community center district, and other key actors within civil society, the project is being implemented. By combining these efforts, the project aims to create a more robust and well-prepared countryside, which in turn strengthens the entire municipality's crisis preparedness.

In summary, the project has the potential to improve both local and overall crisis preparedness by engaging and educating residents and developing important resources and networks.

 The project runs from 2024-2025.
