Svärdklova Country Store
Improved service through unmanned store in Svärdsklova
About the project
In June 2025, Svärdsklova rural retail opened the doors to its unmanned store, along the coast between Nyköping and Trosa. Leader Sörmlandskusten is co-financing the project.
Svärdsklova rural store offers, in addition to basic goods, a handpicked selection of local products from Sörmland. The store is also a member of Sörmland's food cluster - this is how the commitment to local food is noticeable!
There is currently no grocery store in the area for permanent residents, seasonal residents and visitors. An unmanned store will increase access to commercial services along the Sörmland coast. In addition to the store, other services will be offered, such as a bicycle service station, benches and tables for those who want to take a break, an information board with local and tourist information and a defibrillator.

THE PROJECT
”"We want to create a coastal service point that makes it easier for residents in the countryside and in the archipelago and at the same time contributes to developing Svärdsklova as a tourist destination"”
Why was the project prioritized?
LAG's decision on prioritization with justification:
Svärdsklova Lanthandel can become a coastal unmanned service point that makes it easier for residents along the Sörmland coast. The store increases access to commercial services for residents and visitors and has the potential to become a meeting place. The applicant has creatively broadened the range of service functions that benefit more parties than themselves. The project is well-established and there is clear cooperation between both entrepreneurs and residents.
LAG is particularly positive about the project's ambition to bring in local food products through collaboration with food producers and the Sörmland food cluster, and that the applicant wants to offer tourist information in connection with the store. Support for an unmanned store is justified as the customer base for the location is seasonal.
The support is considered a "project support for companies" and receives 45 % in support.
