Location development Horsvik

Develop the Horsvik archipelago home for increased accessibility and more visitors

About the project

Horsvik is a well-preserved archipelago home with an intact farm structure. The cottages are located in the Horsvik nature reserve in Nyköping municipality. Here you can hike, swim, fish and enjoy the tranquility of the archipelago.

Nyköping Municipality has been granted project support to develop Horsvik as a visitor destination. Above all, the municipality will make Horsvik accessible to a variety of visitors. This involves developing accessible trails, coming up with activities, being part of developing a summer program, expanding services for visitors and producing a development plan for Horsvik.

You can read more about the development of Horsvik on the Nyköping municipality website.

The project runs from 2023 to 2025.

THE PROJECT

”"We want Horsvik to become a vibrant tourist destination – it should be the obvious gateway to the Sörmland archipelago"”

Why was the project prioritized?

LAG's decision on prioritization with justification:

A site development of Horsvik towards new target groups can create conditions for entrepreneurship and activities in the area. By improving accessibility and developing service functions for visitors and businesses, the project also contributes to promoting active outdoor life and opportunities for citizens to experience the archipelago.

Horsvik has great potential to become a vibrant destination for both residents of the region and visitors and tourists from outside. The project results can therefore benefit the entire Sörmland coast.
