F11 climbing studio
Nyköping's climbing club will establish a new climbing studio at Skavsta outside Nyköping. Here, young people and adults will be able to try out and develop within the sport. We promise - there will be climbing on the walls.
About the project
”This is a dream location - here we can build the climbing hall we have always dreamed of” says Mikael Knutsson, who is the construction manager for the project. The Leader Sörmlandskust board also sees the potential in the project at Skavsta and has chosen to prioritize the construction of a new climbing hall.
The purpose of the project is to establish a climbing hall to promote physical activity, community, and health among the local population and visitors.
The goal of the project is to build a new climbing hall in existing premises at Skavsta. The climbing hall will offer climbing with different difficulty levels to suit both beginners
and experienced climbers, and one will be able to climb both bouldering and on climbing walls with ropes.
The location of the premises at Skavsta outside Nyköping makes it easy to visit for many of the municipality's residents. It also contributes to strengthening the sports offerings in the Skavsta area, which has the potential to become something of a cluster for various sports.

LAG's decision justification
The project contributes to the initiative area Living Rural Areas.
The board has decided to prioritize the project
based on its clear long-term potential to
strengthen the sports offerings and community in
Nyköping municipality. The project receives significant
support from both RS SISU Södermanland and
Nyköping municipality, which ensures stable
co-financing.
The choice of location at Skavsta is strategically justified.
It is close to both the countryside and the urban area,
which facilitates for both the local population and
visitors to take part in the activities. Furthermore,
there are already good infrastructural conditions
with Skavsta airport and the future
train station via Ostlänken, which further
improves accessibility for visitors from all
over the region. The premises also offer the possibility of
future expansion, making it ideal to
meet both current and future needs for
the climbing sport in the area.
